This topic describes the available options and settings for Internal Part Numbers (IPNs) on the General tab.

  1. Log into the FactoryLogix Office client application.

  2. Select Libraries Libraries button > Part Library.

  3. Select the Internal Part Number tab at the top of the window.

  4. To view information for an internal part number, select the Plus Plus icon to expand part number details icon to the left of the part number.

    Internal part number details

Item

Description

Part Number

The assigned part number for the selected internal part.

Revision

The revision level of the selected internal part (if one is assigned).

Description

Optional field that displays a description of the selected internal part.

Thumbnail Image

Optional field that displays a thumbnail image of the selected internal part.

Part Label

Optional field that displays the label information for the selected internal part.

Allow Simultaneous Loading

Provides the option to load/set up a single UID for internal parts across multiple workstations at the same time (for example, material used at a workstation group including multiple single workstations that need to consume material from one large box).

RoHS

Note

Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) is a directive that restricts the use of hazardous materials in the manufacture of electronics and electrical equipment.

  • If an assembly is marked as RoHS, FactoryLogix will verify whether the materials loaded to a workstation are also RoHS-compliant. If an assembly is marked as RoHS, but the material is not, FactoryLogix will not allow a Production user to load the material to a workstation (against the active operation) and will display a notification.

Package Type

The component package type (typically used in electronics manufacturing and also referred to as an integrated circuit package).

Unit of Issue

Specifies the unit of issue for the selected part. The default unit of issue for a part is Pieces. You can define additional units of issue by selecting Templates and Standards > Units of Measure in FactoryLogix Office and adding custom measurements, for example:

  • Capacitance

  • Current

  • Degrees

  • Frequency

  • Inductance

  • Length

  • Resistance

  • Temperature

  • Time

  • Voltage

  • Volume

  • Weight

See /wiki/spaces/FD/pages/79300380 for information about how to create and edit custom units of measure.

Splicing Tolerance

Specifies the tolerance when splicing two electronic parts reels together.

Load Time Limit

Specifies (in minutes) the load time limit for a part before maintenance is required. This option supports parts, tools, and consumables and is excellent for re-validating certain manufacturing items at a set interval (for example, forcing a re-validation of one or more tools being used at an operation).

The load time limit is evaluated at WIP start, so as a new unit is started, the Load Time Limit setting is evaluated. If the time has been exceeded, the operator will be prompted to validate the item(s) in question.

Resource Types

Specifies the resources used by a particular machine. You can edit resource types in the Templates and Standards > Factory Resources area of FactoryLogix Office.

Barcode Sequence Tracking

Specifies the type of tracking for sequencing a barcode for the selected part.

  • Use Default - The default setting specified in FactoryLogix Office > System Configuration > Settings > Global Options tab (General category):

    • Global - across the entire system

    • Part - for the part for all revisions

    • Revision - for a specific part revision

    • Batch - for a production batch

  • Part - Used for the part for all revisions. When you select this option, the Last Barcode Sequence field displays. Select Reset Last Index (the pencil icon), enter the last barcode sequence index, then select Accept New Index (the check mark icon).

  • Revision - Used for a specific part revision. When you select this option, the Last Barcode Sequence field displays. Select Reset Last Index (the pencil icon), enter the last barcode sequence index, then select Accept New Index (the check mark icon).

  • Batch - Used for a production batch

Info

Important

We recommend that you do not reset the barcode tracking sequence since doing so can result in duplicate UIDs being created.

Custom fields

A custom field consists of a label and a value you use to further customize, identify, or differentiate part numbers (Manufacturer, Customer, or Internal), BOM line items, processes, or defects. In FactoryLogix, the name you specify for a custom field displays next to the text box where the custom field value will be entered.

See Define custom fields for more information about creating custom fields.
