Global options Die globalen Optionen in FactoryLogix Office affect how users interact with FactoryLogix features and functions and control all aspects of the system. Global option settings combined with user roles and permissions allow different types of access to all areas of the system. Administrators access FactoryLogix global options in the Settings area of the FactoryLogix Office client application.

In the ECAD Management category, you configure the default global option settings for editing Gerber files, ECAD display behavior, and ECAD import options.

Gerber Editing

• Pads Consolidation Mode - Specifies the methodology to use when consolidating pads in Gerber:

  • Grouping - Photoplot chunks are grouped automatically—there are no visual changes, but there may be possible performance loss once digitization is completed.

  • Rectangle - Photoplot chunks that would normally be grouped are converted into a single flash. The photoplot will change visually, but performance will be improved.

• Gerber Footprint Matching Tolerance - Specifies the tolerance value to use (in thousandths of an inch) when matching user selections to existing footprints when digitizing Gerber data. 

• Automatically Generate Footprint Names - When set to True, generates names automatically for newly-created footprints.

ECAD Display

Specifies the colors to use for the layers and other aspects of imported ECAD files. You can select new colors from the drop-down palette. The colors you select will be the default colors for all new ECAD files you import into FactoryLogix:

• ECAD Display Units - Specifies the ECAD display units to use: Metric, English, or ECAD Units.

• Update Footprints from Library when Importing ECAD -When set to True, replaces ECAD footprints with Library footprints automatically (matched by name when importing ECAD data).
