  • Perspektivische Projektion - This view uses a planar (two-dimensional) surface to graphically display a 3D assembly to approximate actual visual perception.

  • Left View - This view displays the assembly from the left side.

  • Right View - This view displays the assembly from the right side.

  • Bottom View - This view displays the assembly from the bottom.

  • Front View - This view displays the assembly from the front.

  • Back View - This view displays the assembly from the back.

  • Top View -This view displays the assembly from the top.

The Camera Menu options (from left to right, top to bottom) are shown in the following illustration. While working in the Process Definition window, you can hover over each option to view its name.

Redline Note

The

The Redline Note

 toolbar

toolbar button has options that allow you to add redline shapes and notes/annotations to a 3D CAD assembly to call out specific areas of the assembly that operators should pay specific attention to. The available options (from left to right, top to bottom) are:

  • Redline Circle - Drag a circle around the area of the assembly you want to draw attention to.

  • Redline Rectangle - Drag a rectangle around the area of the assembly you want to draw attention to.

  • Redline Note - Displays a notes box where you can add notes to highlight part of an assembly. You can resize the Notes box by dragging the handle in the lower-right corner of the box.

  • Redline Freehand - Displays a freehand "pen" cursor you can use to draw redline freehand shapes on an assembly.

Select Parts

The

The Select Parts

 toolbar title

toolbar button (the cursor) allows you to select individual parts in a 3D CAD image. When you select a part, it is highlighted with either Red or Green. Additional options allow you to measure angles or distances between part faces, point-to-point measurements, edge measurements, select areas of the assembly, and create push-pin style notes to call out specific areas where you want to add specific instructions.

The options for the Select Part button are (from left to right, top to bottom):

  • Create Note-Pin - Creates a pushpin-style note to call out specific areas or parts on a 3D CAD image.

  • Measure Angle Between Faces - Measures the angle between two part faces. Drag the cursor to select the faces to measure.

  • Measure Distance Between Faces - Measures the distance between two part faces. Drag the cursor to select the faces to measure.

  • Measure Edges - Measures the distance between two part faces. Drag the cursor to select the faces to measure.

  • Measure Point to Point - Measures the distance between two edges on an assembly. Drag the cursor to select the edges to measure.

  • Area Select - Measures the distance between two part faces. Drag the cursor to select an area of the assembly to measure.

Settings

Select

Select Settings on the toolbar to display a variety of settings for editing 3D images.

General tab - Use these options to modify or turn on/off the following settings.

General

  • Projection Mode - Displays a 3D CAD object using one of two modes: Orthographic (an object is depicted using parallel lines to project its shape onto a plane)

or
  • or Perspective (graphically approximates a three-dimensional object on a two-dimensional surface to approximate actual visual perception).

  • Framerate (fps) The number

of frames FactoryLogix displays
  • of frames FactoryLogix displays and renders a 3D CAD image in frames per second (fps) for every second of real time.

  • Hidden Line Opacity (0-1) - Changes the opaqueness of lines in

the
  • the Hidden Line

 view
  •  view. You can set hidden lines from 0-1.

  • Show Backfaces - Toggles the display of backfaces on/off in a 3D CAD image. In a normal view, vectors are drawn from the face center outward from the front. Any normals going away from you indicate a backface (reversed).

  • Show Capping Geometry - Toggles the display of capping geometry On/Off.

  • Enable Face/Line Selection - Toggles the ability to select faces and lines.

  • Selection Honors Scene Visibility - Toggles the ability to make an honors scene visible in a 3D CAD image.

  • Rotate Around Camera Center - When enabled, each time you drag the cursor to rotate the 3D CAD image, the assembly is rotated around the camera's center.

Effects

  • Enable Ambient Occlusion

    • Radius - specifies the radius angle used for ambient occlusion.

  • Enable Anti-Aliasing - Toggles anti-aliasing On/Off. (Anti-aliasing smooths jagged edges on curved lines and diagonals.)

  • Enable Bloom

The
  • The Bloom effect creates fringes of light extending from the borders of bright areas in a 3D CAD image, providing an illusion of a very bright light overwhelming the camera.

    • Intensity Scale Specifies the strength of

the
    • the Bloom filter.

    • Threshold Specifies the level of brightness to filter out pixels under this threshold level. (The Threshold level is expressed in gamma-space.)

Point Cloud

  • Enable Splats - Toggles splats On/Off.

    • Size - Specifies the size of splats.

    • Mode - Specifies the mode to be used for splats.
