For panelized assemblies, circuit mapping at the operation-level is used to map defects to the correct circuit in a panel when a machine doesn't use standard sequence numbers for circuits (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, for example). If a machine generates “Board1” or “0” for the circuit number instead of “1”, you can map these values appropriately to the first circuit to ensure the defect is collected against the correct circuit.

To modify the circuit mapping, follow these steps.

  1. Log into the NPI client application and open the CAD file for the panelized assembly.
  2. Double-click the desired operation.
  3. Select the step where you want to map the circuits.
  4. Select the Document Tools tab, then select the Circuit Mapping toolbar button.
  5. In the Circuit Mapping dialog, use the Mapped Circuit Location column to map the circuits by entering the desired sequence or name for each circuit.
