Primary upgrade procedures

The topics in this guide correspond to the primary procedures for a typical upgrade. We recommend completing each procedure in sequence as presented:

• Back up the database
  A database backup procedure should be completed before upgrading any FactoryLogix software.
  
  

• Record service account logon settings
  This procedure ensures that settings needed for services to access network services are recorded to properly reconfigure/restore those services after the software upgrade.
  
  

• Upgrade the software
  This procedure runs the installation programs to update the currently-installed products.
  
  

• Upgrade the database schema
  This procedure uses any system that has FactoryLogix Server Management installed to update the FactoryLogix database schema.
  
  

• Reconfigure service logon accounts
  This procedure uses the settings recorded before the upgrade and reapplies those settings to their applicable services.
