CI2 format (CI2 - Includes Full Library Support) properties

The following information is based on selecting the Comprehensive Import (CI2 - Includes Full Library Support) Generated Program Format in the Properties dialog. The dialog tabs contain options to define a location to store the GSM required information (part numbers, feeders, components, and configuration).

CI2 - Includes Full Library Support

General

Library Database - Specifies the type of library database the Universal machine will access: Access Database Type or System DSN Type.

  • Path to Universal GSM Database - By selecting the browse button (the ellipsis ...), you can select the location of the Universal database.  

  • Compact Database - Compacts the Universal database.

  • Clear All Data - Deletes all existing data from the Universal database.

Display Units - The units that FactoryLogix will display in the machine programming interface (Inches, Mils, or Millimeters).

Output Units - The units that will be used in the output file (Inches, Mils, or Millimeters).

Generated Program Format - Select the output format to generate from FactoryLogix (in this case Comprehensive Import (CI2 - Includes Full Library Support)). 

Programming Options

  • Generate Kitting Report - Generates a MS Excel file showing the setup of the machine for that particular run.

  • Optimize Upon Import - The Universal GSM software will optimize the CDI file during import.

Import/Export Options

  • Overwrite Existing Items - Overwrites previously-imported data.

  • Append New data - Appends new data to any previously-imported data.

Use New Component Angle Convention - Consult your Universal machine documentation for details about this newer machine placement angle convention.

Import - Select this button to import nozzle files in CI2 or XML format.

Export - Select this button to export nozzle files in CI2 or XML format.

Pick/Place Nozzles - Displays a list of pick and place nozzles (both imported and user defined if applicable).

 

For user defined pick and place nozzles, you can specify options such as Name, Description, Nozzle Type, Rotation, and other options. Consult your Universal machine documentation for details about pick and place nozzle types.

 

Dispense Nozzles - Displays a list of dispense nozzles (both imported and user defined if applicable). 

 

For user defined dispense nozzles, you can specify the Name, Description, Paired Name, and Rotation. Consult your Universal machine documentation for details about dispense nozzle types.

Feeders

 

Universal Properties dialog CI2 format - Feeders tab



The Feeders tab stores all of the GSM's feeders. On this tab, you create a new feeder to later associate the feeder to a part number.

 

Note

Units are in inches based on the information supplied on the General tab of the Properties dialog.

 

Categories - Displays a predefined list of available feeder categories such as Coverless Tape, Tape, Matrix, Track, and so on.

  • Groups - Displays user defined list of feeder groups to filter the feeders.

Feeders - Displays all available feeders by Category, Group, or Feeder.

  • Name - Displays the name of the selected feeder.

  • Category - Use the drop-down to select a category for the current feeder.

  • Description - Allows you to enter a short description for the selected feeder.

  • Groups - Select the ellipsis (...) to open the Select Group(s) window where you can select one or more groups to which this feeder belongs.

Import - Select this button to import Universal feeder files in CI2 or XML format.

Export - Select this button to export Universal feeder files in CI2 or XML format.

  • Feeder-specific data - Use the options in this area to specify data for the currently selected feeder:

    • Number of Slots 

    • Reference Slot

    • Left Edge Distance* (units are in Mils)

    • Front Edge Distance* (units are in Mils)

    • Width* (units are in Mils)

    • Depth* (units are in Mils)

    • Pickup X* (units are in Mils)

    • Pickup Y* (units are in Mils)

    • Pickup Tolerance X* (units are in Mils)

    • Pickup Tolerance Y* (units are in Mils)

    • Theta Pick Tolerance

    • Pick Attempts

    • Cycle Time

    • Number of Tracks

    • Track Width

CI2 - Includes Full Library Support

Components

 



On the Components tab, you can define information for added components or import component information from a Universal machine. You can also filter compoentns by a user defined group or by avialable category.

Categories - Displays a predefined list of available component categories such as BGA, Chip, TAB, Connector, and so on.

Groups - Displays user defined list of component groups to filter the components.

Part Numbers - Use the tabs to display the currently selected component by Category, Group, or Part Number.

Import - Select this button to import Universal component files in CI2 or XML format.

Export - Select this button to export Universal component files in CI2 or XML format.

Name - Displays the name of the selected component.

Category - Use the drop-down to select a category for the current component.

Description - Allows you to enter a short description for the selected component.

Groups - Select the ellipsis (...) to open the Select Group(s) window where you can select one or more groups to which this feeder belongs.

Component-specific data - Use the options in this area to specify data for the currently selected component including:

  • Comp Length* (units are in Mils)

  • Body Length* (units are in Mils)

  • Pick X* (units are in Mils)

  • Place X* (units are in Mils)

  • Length Tol (%)

  • Comp Width* (units are in Mils)

  • Body Width* (units are in Mils)

  • Pick Y* (units are in Mils)

  • Place Y* (units are in Mils)

  • Width Tol (%)

  • Comp Height* (units are in Mils)

  • Default Feeder - Feeders are defined on the Feeders tab.

  • Default Orientation

  • Default Reject Station - If a feeder was defined as a Reject Station on the Feeders tab, it will be available from this drop down list.

  • Default Matirx Tray - If a feeder was defined as a Matrix Tray on the Feeders tab, it will be available from this drop down list.

  • Default Tape Feeder - If a feeder was defined as a Tape Feeder on the Feeders tab, it will be available from this drop down list.

  • Default Track Feeder - If a feeder was defined as a Track Feeder on the Feeders tab, it will be available from this drop down list.

  • DPTF Pallet Xfer Speed (%)

  • PTF Belt Speed (%)

  • CodesN=New Entry, F=No Default Feeder

CI2 - Includes Full Library Support

Comps2

The Comps2 tab provides access to information regarding the CI2 files that are imported from the Universal machine.  The dialog contains the same parameters that are available through the Part Number Library on the machine. This dialog allows you to view, enter, and edit the data very easily offline. (Only relevant data is editable depending on the specific part number selected.)

The inspect check box (if selected) allows the machine to inspect the selected component based on the information entered in the Tolerance section of this dialog (if applicable). Also, there is an option to define the type of Find procedure. Based on the component type, select Rough Find, Precise Find, or Orientation Check.





Part Numbers - Displays all available part numbers.

Centering Type - Use the drop-down to select a predefined centering type for the selected part number such as BGA, FlipChip, Leaded, Leadless, and so on.

Inspection Type - Use the drop-down t o select a predefined inspection type for the selected part number: High Accuracy or High Speed

Lighting Polarity - Use the drop-down to select the lighting polarity for the selected part number: Black or White.

Component-specific data - Use the options in this area to specify data for the currently selected component including:

  • Inspect

  • Lead Tol From Body* (units are in Mils)

  • Lead Tol Across Body* (units are in Mils)

  • Lead Spacing Tol* (units are in Mils)

  • Lean Len Positive Tol* (units are in Mils)

  • Lead Len Negative Tol* (units are in Mils)

Comps3

The Comps 3 tab contains machine information as it relates to specific part numbers. For example, depending on the selected part number, you can adjust head information, camera information, or dispense dot information. Also, depending on the selected part number, you can adjust lead information such as Side, Number of Leads, Lead Pitch, Width, Length, Lead Type and X and Y coordinates.

Configuration

Use the Configuration tab of the Properties dialog to specify the configuration of user-defined feeder banks.





Feeder Banks - In this area of the dialog, you can add or delete feeder banks and permanent feeders and define the skip locations to be used.

 

 

  • Feeder Bank Name - Enter a name for the feeder bank.

  • Start Slot - Specifies the start slot for the selected feeder bank.

  • End Slot - Specifies the end slot for the selected feeder bank.

Auto Feeder Setup - This area specifies skip location details for automatic feeders by slot and track/pallet. 

  • Skipped Locations - This area shows allt he skipped locations for auto feeders.

    • Slot - Specifies the slot for the selected selected skip location.

    • Track/Pallet - Specifies the track or pallet for the selected selected skip location.

Permanent Feeders - Defines permanent feeders for hte Universal machine.

  • Feeder - Select a feeder fromt he drop-down.

  • Part Number - Select a part number from the drop-down.

  • Slot - Enter a slot for the permanent feeder.

  • Track/Pallet - Enter a track or pallet for the permanent feeder.
