Delete an assembly

Important

Before you can delete an assembly, you need to delete any process revisions linked to it. In certain cases, an assembly may also be associated with one or more batches and you must delete the batches before you can delete the process revisions associated with the assembly.

 

  1. Log into the NPI client application, then select Libraries > Assembly Library.

Note

You can also delete an assembly from the Part Library using the same procedure.

 

  1. Use the Search for field to locate the assembly, select Show Only Assemblies, then select the binoculars Binoculars button for searching button to start the search. (Use the desired search filters to help find the assembly quickly by part number type.)

  2. Select the assembly from the list, then select the Delete button at the top of the window.

    If there are process revisions associated with the assembly, you will see the following error message (otherwise, the assembly is deleted and you're finished).

  3. Select OK, then select Cancel to return to the Part Library window.

  4. To delete the process revisions associated with the assembly, go to NPI > Process Engineering > Define Processes > Open Process.

  5. Use the Search field to locate the process revision.

  6. Select the process revision, then select the Delete Delete button button on the toolbar.




  7. When the confirmation dialog displays, select Yes to confirm that you want to delete the process revision.

    The process revision is deleted.

  8. If there are batches associated with the selected process revision that you're deleting, you will see this error message:





  9. Select OK. 

  10. To remove the batches associated with the process revision, navigate to NPI > Logistics > Batch Management.

  11. Locate and select the batch associated with the process revision you want to delete.

Important

If the batch is in the Pending or Activated column, you need to drag it to the Unscheduled Batches column before you can delete it.

 

  1. Select the batch, then select the Remove Batch  button at the top of the window.




  2. Select Yes to confirm the deletion.

  3. Repeat Steps 1–3 to delete the assembly.
