After you create stock locations in NPI, parts may be assigned to each location and configured to auto-replenish when stock levels fall below a particular level.

  1. Log into the NPI client application.
  2. Select Templates and Standards Templates and Standards buttonImage Modified > Factory Resources to display the Resource Library Navigator window. (If a factory doesn't exist, you need to create one.)
  3.  Select a stock location in the tree on the left side of the window.

  4. Under Stock Locations, select the desired stock location.

  5. Select the Assign Parts Assign Parts buttonImage Modified button to open the Assigned Parts Configuration window.

  6. Select the Find Part Number  button in the upper-right corner of the window to open the Search dialog. (Selecting the button again will minimize the Search dialog.)

  7. Enter a search string for example a partial or full part number and select Search.

    Parts may be searched using using their Internal Part Number (IPN), Vendor Part Number (VPN), or Manufacturer Part Number (MPN).

    To search all part numbers, enter an asterisk * in the Search bar and press Enter. All part numbers of the selected type will be displayed.


  8. Select the required part(s) from the results list, then select OK (or double-click the parts) to assign them to the stock location.

    The part numbers you selected for this stock location display in the lower part of the window.

    To remove a part number from a stock location, select the part number in the lower portion of the window, then select the Remove Part Number Remove Part Number buttonImage Modified button in the upper-right corner of the window.

  9. (Optional) Specify the Minimum Quantity and Maximum Quantity values for a part at this stock location using the text box under each column heading.

  10. (Optional) Select the Auto Replenish Part check box to generate a transport order if the quantity of a part falls below the Minimum Quantity you specified at this stock location.
  11. Select OK to close the Assigned Parts Configuration window.
  12. Select Save in the lower-right corner of the Resource Library Navigator window to save your changes.
