In the Containers window, you can maintain an inventory of containers in FactoryLogix for traceability purposes. The two categories in this area are:

• Carriers

• Boxes

1. Log into the Production client application.

2. Select the Advanced Features Image Modified button (the gear) at the top of the window, then select Containers.

2. To create a new carrier or box, select Carriers or Boxes under Categories on the left side of the Containers window.
   
   A list of available inventory types is displayed.
   
   

3. Select a type of carrier or box under Available Inventory Types.

4. Do one of the following:
   
   

   • Select an existing carrier or box from the list, then select the Add

     button.

   • Select the Add 

     Image Modified

     button under Available Inventory Types, enter details for a new carrier or box in the Add New Box Item Type dialog, then select OK.

2. (Optional) To view an inventory of a selected (existing) carrier or box, select the View Inventory

    button on the right side of the window.

2. Do one of the following:

   • Enter a unique barcode to be used for selected carrier or box in the Barcode field.

   • Select the Auto Generate Barcode check box to generate barcodes automatically for the carriers or boxes.
     
     

3. Continue to add new carriers or boxes as needed until all new material instances are created.

4. (Optional) To remove a selected carrier or box under Current Inventory Type, select the Delete Item

2. (Optional) To edit the properties of a selected carrier or box, select the Properties

   button under Available Inventory Types.

2. (Optional) To delete a selected existing carrier or box completely, select the Delete Image Modifiedbutton under Available Inventory Types.

   When you delete an available carrier or box from the available inventory types, it is deleted permanently.

3. Select the Submit button in the lower-right corner of the window to add the new items to your inventory.
