After you Specify a machine and add programming to your process definition in FactoryLogix Office, you're ready to edit the machine-specific properties and make any necessary changes.

Editing machine properties settings is a task you typically do one time and only modify when necessary.


  1. Under Line Programming in the Process tree, select Universal under the operation you assigned it to previously (Auto Place, for example).
  2. In the Machine List window to the right of the Process tree, select the Edit Properties Edit Properties buttonImage Modified button.

    Depending on the output format you select (ASCII, CDI, or CI2), you will see a dialog with one or more tabs that you will use to specify machine properties.

  3. Specify Universal machine properties depending on the output format you select under Generated Program Format (ASCII, CDI, or CI2) in the Properties dialog, then select OK when you're finished.
