When you upgrade the FactoryLogix System, the software is removed and then reinstalled in a single process. The upgrade process may reset the domain accounts that were configured for one or more of the following services:
FactoryLogix Application Service
FactoryLogix Alarm Service
FactoryLogix Integration Service
FactoryLogix Real Time Analysis Service
FactoryLogix Report Scheduler Service
FactoryLogix xLink Service
FactoryLogix xTend API Service
The number of servers you use and the software installed on each server will determine what needs to be recorded. This information varies for each customer, so it is important to know the components you installed on each server and the total number of servers. Use the following procedure to determine if a service has been installed on a server and if it is using a specific logon account.
On the server machine, select Start > Services > Open. (To open the Services snap-in in Windows Server® 2012, select *Start , then enter services.msc.)
In the Services window, review the FactoryLogix services and the Logon As column.
If the Logon As column displays a specific account, record that account against the specific service. If the Logon As column displays Local System for the FactoryLogix services, you don't need to record any settings since this won't change during the FactoryLogix upgrade.
The format of the user\domain account can be of two different formats. Acceptable formats are:
domain\user
user@domain.com
Note
Be sure that you know the password for each account that is found. In most cases, there should only be one account shared by all FactoryLogix services. You also need to know the password for that account before you can properly reconfigure the services after the FactoryLogix upgrade. Record all necessary account settings in the Pre-upgrade checklist.
