About smart images

For activity-level work instructions where a single part or assembly requires multiple images (for example, different part views such as Top, Side, Bottom, and so on), FactoryLogix can display the desired part image dynamically based on animage title. This capability alleviates the need to create work instructions driven by option codes which can be time consuming. Using these smart images may also reduce project size, relieving the need to have a huge set of instructions available when only a fraction of the content is used for any given batch/order.

...

The ability to dynamically display many images for a given part in an activity-level work instruction has several benefits:

  • Automates the presentation of work instruction content.

  • Reduces work instruction development overhead.

  • Reduces overall project size.

For example, suppose you manufacture printed circuit boards in different configurations. You can put all the images for different views of your PCBs in a smart image gallery in the FactoryLogix Part Library. When process designers create work instructions for shop floor operators, they can select any PCB image from the list of saved images and titles—without uploading images each time work instructions need to be modified for a particular customer order.Image Removed
