Along the top of the BOM under BOM Line Items, there is a toolbar with options for adding and removing line items, changing the part type of a selected item, setting specific revisions, and AML/AVL options.

Option	Description
Launch Wizard	Image Modified Launches the Load Design Files wizard where you can replace the current BOM file with a different file.
Add	Adds a new part, existing part, or assembly to the BOM for a process definition. Add New Part - Adds a new Internal Part Number to the BOM. Add Existing Part - Adds an existing part number to the BOM. Add Assembly - Adds a new assembly to the BOM. Image Modified
Delete	Image Modified Deletes selected line items from the BOM.
Change Part Type	Changes the selected part to a different type: Generic, Electronic, Consumable, or Tooling. Image Modified
Mark As Assembly	Image Modified Changes a selected part to an assembly.
Configuration Options	Split Item - Splits a selected BOM line item into two additional items. Group Items - Reconfigures selected BOM items into groups. Add to Group - Adds a selected BOM line item to a group. Ungroup Items - Ungroups grouped BOM items. Copy Existing Variant - Copies a selected variant from one assembly to another. Image Modified
AML/AVL/Alt IPN Options	Specifies approved manufacturer or vendor lists for parts and Alternate IPNs for selected parts. Add/Delete Approved Manufacturer List (AML) Add/Delete Approved Vendor List (AVL) Add/Delete Alternate Internal Part Number (IPN) Image Modified
Revision Options	Assigns the selected option to the Revision Mode column for all BOM items. Use Latest For All - Uses the latest part revision. Use Any For All - Uses any part revision. Use Specific For All - Uses the specified part revision. Image Modified
Auto-Validation	When selected, error checks you previously set up in NPI Global Options are validated automatically.
Validate	When selected, validates error checks you previously set up in NPI Global Options.
Genealogy	Image Modified Displays every line item/component for an assembly and associated details including IPNs, part types, quantities, revision mode, and references (if defined).
