| Reset Camera | After resizing a 3D CAD image, select Reset Camera to reset the image to its previous size. |
| Camera Menu | Use the Camera Menu options to orient the camera according to an isometric, orthographic projection, or perspective projection view, or to a selected assembly face. Isometric View - This view displays a 3D assembly image from a corner viewpoint rather than straight on (from the top, front, back, bottom, and so on.) Orthographic Projection View - This view is a projection of a single view of an assembly (such as a view of the front) onto a drawing surface in which the lines of projection are perpendicular to the drawing surface. Perspective Projection - This view uses a planar (two-dimensional) surface to graphically display a 3D assembly to approximate actual visual perception. Left View - This view displays the assembly from the left side. Right View - This view displays the assembly from the right side. Bottom View - This view displays the assembly from the bottom. Front View - This view displays the assembly from the front. Back View - This view displays the assembly from the back. Top View -This view displays the assembly from the top.
The Camera Menu options (from left to right, top to bottom) are shown in the following illustration. While working in the Process Definition window, you can hover over each option to view its name. |
| Shaded With Lines | Use the Shaded With Lines options to change the look of your 3D assembly image for specific views with shading and lines. There's also an XRay view that displays an assembly as if you were looking through all its layers. The options (from top to bottom) are: Shaded With Lines - Displays the 3D CAD image with shading and definition lines applied. Shaded - Displays the 3D CAD image with shading applied, but no defining lines. Hidden Line - Displays the 3D CAD image with all hidden lines displayed. Wireframe - Displays the 3D CAD image as a wireframe (no solid surfaces are displayed). XRay - Displays the 3D CAD image with all hidden lines displayed, but blurred (similar to an X-ray).

| Redline Note | The Redline Note toolbar button has options that allow you to add redline shapes and notes/annotations to a 3D CAD assembly to call out specific areas of the assembly that operators should pay specific attention to. The available options (from left to right, top to bottom) are: Redline Circle - Drag a circle around the area of the assembly you want to draw attention to. Redline Rectangle - Drag a rectangle around the area of the assembly you want to draw attention to. Redline Note - Displays a notes box where you can add notes to highlight part of an assembly. You can resize the Notes box by dragging the handle in the lower-right corner of the box. Redline Freehand - Displays a freehand "pen" cursor you can use to draw redline freehand shapes on an assembly.

Important If you make a mistake, select the Redline item and press the Delete key to remove it from the CAD image—you can delete the item only as long as the corresponding Redline command is still selected on the toolbar. |
|
| Select Parts | The Select Parts toolbar button (the cursor) allows you to select individual parts in a 3D CAD image. When you select a part, it is highlighted with either Red or Green. Additional options allow you to measure angles or distances between part faces, point-to-point measurements, edge measurements, select areas of the assembly, and create push-pin style notes to call out specific areas where you want to add specific instructions. The options for the Select Part button are (from left to right, top to bottom): Create Note-Pin - Creates a pushpin-style note to call out specific areas or parts on a 3D CAD image. Measure Angle Between Faces - Measures the angle between two part faces. Drag the cursor to select the faces to measure. Measure Distance Between Faces - Measures the distance between two part faces. Drag the cursor to select the faces to measure. Measure Edges - Measures the distance between two part faces. Drag the cursor to select the faces to measure. Measure Point to Point - Measures the distance between two edges on an assembly. Drag the cursor to select the edges to measure. Area Select - Measures the distance between two part faces. Drag the cursor to select an area of the assembly to measure.

Important While using any of the measurement tools (Point to Point, for example), if you need to remove a measurement, the tool must remain selected and you press the Esc key to remove each measurement you created (from last created to first created). |
|
| Orbit Camera | The Orbit Camera toolbar options allow you to "walk" around the assembly, turn the assembly, or orbit (rotate) around a fixed point (default setting). Walk - Changes the 3D CAD view to create the appearance of walking. Turntable - Allows you to spin the 3D CAD image 360°. Orbit Camera - Allows you to rotate the 3D CAD image around a fixed point.
Select the Reset Camera toolbar button to restore the camera view to the default. |
| Explode Menu | The Explode menu gives you a slider control to create an exploded view of a 3D CAD assembly where individual parts are separated from the complete assembly as you drag the slider. |
| Cutting Plane Menu | The Cutting Plane Menu options allow you to simulate "slicing" a 3D solid or surface with a cutting plane. |
| Snapshot | Select the Snapshot toolbar button to create a snapshot of the current 3D CAD view and save the image as a *.png file. Select Snapshot. Right-click the 3D CAD image, select Save Image As, select a file location, enter a name for the image, then select Save.
Select the Close button to return to the 3D CAD tab.
|
| Settings | Select Settings on the toolbar to display a variety of settings for editing 3D images. General tab - Use these options to modify or turn on/off the following settings. General Projection Mode - Displays a 3D CAD object using one of two modes: Orthographic (an object is depicted using parallel lines to project its shape onto a plane) or Perspective (graphically approximates a three-dimensional object on a two-dimensional surface to approximate actual visual perception). Framerate (fps) - The number of frames FactoryLogix displays and renders a 3D CAD image in frames per second (fps) for every second of real time. Hidden Line Opacity (0-1) - Changes the opaqueness of lines in the Hidden Line view. You can set hidden lines from 0-1. Show Backfaces - Toggles the display of backfaces on/off in a 3D CAD image. In a normal view, vectors are drawn from the face center outward from the front. Any normals going away from you indicate a backface (reversed). Show Capping Geometry - Toggles the display of capping geometry On/Off. Enable Face/Line Selection - Toggles the ability to select faces and lines. Selection Honors Scene Visibility - Toggles the ability to make an honors scene visible in a 3D CAD image. Rotate Around Camera Center - When enabled, each time you drag the cursor to rotate the 3D CAD image, the assembly is rotated around the camera's center.
Effects Enable Ambient Occlusion Enable Anti-Aliasing - Toggles anti-aliasing On/Off. (Anti-aliasing smooths jagged edges on curved lines and diagonals.) Enable Bloom - The Bloom effect creates fringes of light extending from the borders of bright areas in a 3D CAD image, providing an illusion of a very bright light overwhelming the camera. Intensity Scale - Specifies the strength of the Bloom filter. Threshold - Specifies the level of brightness to filter out pixels under this threshold level. (The Threshold level is expressed in gamma-space.) Silhouette Edges - Toggles the display of silhouette edges On/Off. Reflection Planes - Toggles the display of reflection planes On/Off. Enable Shadows - Toggles the display of shadows On/Off.
Axis Point Cloud Color Background Color - Use this option to specify Top and Bottom background colors. Capping Geometry - Use this option to specify Face and Line colors for capping geometry. Selection Color - Use this option to specify colors for image Body, Faces and Lines, Measurement color, and to enable and select a PMI Override Color.
Walk tab - Use these options to control the 3D view in a drawing interactively to create the appearance of walking through the model. Drawing tab - Use these options to control the colors used for the Background, the Sheet, and the Sheet Shadow for your 3D CAD assembly image. You can also enable or disable the Sheet Background. |
