Manufacturing professionals need to have the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively utilize FactoryLogix to automate route decisions based on unit quality.

Quality standards allow you to establish varying levels of quality control and serve as benchmarks for what is acceptable during production.

  • In FactoryLogix, you can set up different quality standards for each type of product you manufacture.

  • Within each quality standard, you can specify one or more defect inspection codes—these are the specific issues or defects that you want to identify during the manufacturing process.

  • Each defect inspection code has a threshold, which is the maximum number of occurrences of that defect that are allowed on a single assembly.

  • When an operator collects a defect or inspection code during assembly, FactoryLogix checks whether it exceeds the specified threshold for that code within the selected quality standard. If it does, FactoryLogix triggers an alarm reaction based on your configuration.

  • Finally, quality result codes come into play when a product doesn't meet the defined quality standard. In combination with an Evaluate Quality Standard exit condition in your process flow, these result codes determine the action taken.

Automate route decisions based on unit quality

In this course, you'll learn how to define quality standards and apply those standards to a process. You'll also learn how to use the Evaluate Quality Standard exit condition to configure automatic firing of defect threshold alarms and/or rerouting of units to Out of Route operations based on quality result codes.
