Introduction

Proper database maintenance is very important. If something happens to your FactoryLogix® database, you need to be able to recover as quickly as possible with minimum data loss. A solid database maintenance plan assures that your transaction logs are maintained properly and don't consume all your available disk space.

This guide provides an ideal maintenance plan for the FactoryLogix database and best practices related to maintaining database health. There are many ways that maintenance plans can be set up. The goal is to create a simple maintenance plans that meets the objectives of backing up your database and properly maintaining your transaction logs.

This guide assumes that you have knowledge of SQL Server and database administration and is not intended to educate you about how to use SQL administration tools.
