When you drag a metric into the Dashboards window, notice the gear button in the upper-right corner of the metric. Select the gear button to reveal three additional buttons:

  •  Data Source button Data Source – Allows you to assign a data source to the metric
  •  Options button Options (wrench icon) – Displays metric-specific options

    Note:

    For all metrics, you can change the Header text and show/hide the header when running a dashboard. You also have the option to select a link to a different dashboard to display when a metric is selected in Run mode (the linked dashboard will be added to the running slide show whenever the metric is selected---this can be very useful to display linked or drill-down data).


  •  Remove button Remove (trash can icon) – Removes the metric from the dashboard

    Note:

    If a metric isn’t compatible with a selected data source, it is dimmed.

Board Stop Alarm Information - Displays board stop alarm information for the current operation for the selected data source.

Options for this metric:

  • Display Alarm Details (On/Off) – Controls the display of alarm detail text.
  • Board Stop Alarm

o   Enabled – Enables the stop alarm.

o   Blink Back Color – Displays a color palette allowing you to select the blink back color for the stop alarm.

o   Blink Back Color Rate (seconds) – Specifies the blinking rate for the stop alarm.

  • Font Settings - Specifies the font, font size, and text style for the stop alarm text.

    Board Stop alarm metric

Performance

Alarm and Event History – Displays alarms and events in a table format for the selected data source.

Options for this metric:

  • Information Types to Display – Specifies the alarm types to display in the chart:
    • Alarm
    • Error
    • General Information
    • Warning
  • Number of Messages to Display – Specifies the number of alarm and event messages to display in the table.
  • Font Settings - Specifies the font, font size, and text style for the stop alarm text.

Performance

Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) - OEE measures how well your investment in equipment is by combining three metrics: availability, performance, and quality. (When you run the dashboard, data is shown for the current operation for the selected data source.)

Options for this metric:

OEE Mode

  • OEE Availability - Displays the OEE availability percentage for the selected data source and time span using a gauge (circular, bar, or numeric).
  • OEE - Displays the OEE percentage for the selected data source and time span using a using a gauge (circular, bar, or numeric).
  • OEE Performance - Displays the OEE performance percentage for the selected data source and time span using a using a gauge (circular, bar, or numeric).
  • OEE Quality - Displays the OEE quality percentage for the selected data source and time span using a gauge (circular, bar, or numeric).

Gauge Display Mode – Specifies the type of gauge to use for the selected metric and mode:

  • Circular
  • Bar
  • Numeric

Decimal Places – Specifies the number of decimal places to display for the metric.

In Limit Range Settings – Specifies the in-limit range to use for the metric.

Out of Limit Range – Specifies the out of limit range to use for the metric.

Warning Limit Range – Specifies the warning limit range to use for the metric.

For all range settings, these options are also available:

  • Use the Enable check box to enable/disable a range limit on the gauge display.
  • Use the Color palette to select a range color for the gauge display.

OEE metric

Performance

Remaining Time (Active Batch) - Displays the remaining time for the active batch for the selected data source.

Options for this metric:

Time Standard - Displays remaining time for the active batch: Real-Time or Estimated Time.

Time format – Select Days, Hours, Minutes, and/or Seconds.

Show Time Format – Displays or hides the time format.

Font Settings - Specifies the font, font size, text style, horizontal and vertical alignment, and Foreground Color and Background Color for the metric.

Remaining Time (Active Batch) metric

Performance

Completion Time (Active Batch) - Displays a clock showing the completion time for the active batch for the selected data source.

Options for this metric:

Time Standard - Displays the completion time using Real Time or Estimated Time.

Clock Style - Displays the completion time using an Analog or Digital clock.

Display Style – Displays the completion time in 12- or 24-hour time format.

Show Seconds Enables/disables the display of seconds on the clock.

Font Settings - Specifies the font, font size, text style, horizontal and vertical alignment, and Foreground Color and Background Color for the completion time metric (digital clock format only).

Completion Time (Active Batch) metric

Performance

Batch Elapsed Duration (Active Batch) – Displays the elapsed duration for the active batch for the selected data source.

Options for this metric:

Duration Mode – Specifies the duration time shown for the active batch. Select Actual, Target, or Actual Vs. Target.

Number of Past Units – Specifies the number of past units to count for the active batch.

Time Format - Select Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds, and/or Milliseconds.

Show Time Format – Displays or hides the time format.

Font Settings - Specifies the font, font size, text style, horizontal and vertical alignment, and Background Color and Foreground Color for the metric.

In Limit Range Settings – Specifies the in-limit range to use for the metric.

Out of Limit Range – Specifies the out of limit range to use for the metric.

Warning Limit Range – Specifies the warning limit range to use for the metric.

Performance

Batch Percent Complete/Remaining – Displays the percentage completed in the active batch for the selected data source.

Options for this metric:

View – Specifies the type of gauge to use for the metric: Circular or Bar.

Orientation – Specifies the orientation for a bar gauge: Horizontal or Vertical.

In Limit Range Settings – Specifies the in-limit range to use for the metric.

Out of Limit Range – Specifies the out of limit range to use for the metric.

Warning Limit Range – Specifies the warning limit range to use for the metric.

Performance

Batch Priority – Displays a data table showing the batch schedule for the selected data source using the selected filter: Assembly, Customer, or Process.

Options for this metric:

Maximum Batches to Display – Controls the number of batches shown in the table display.

Font Settings - Specifies the font, font size, and text style for the table text.

Product Filter – Select the Edit button (the pencil) to display a dialog where you can select a product Type (Assembly, Customer, or Process) and a customer Name.


Note:

To change the product filter, select the Delete button (the trash can), then make new selections.


Batch Priority metric

Performance

Change Over Time - Displays the change over time (Data is shown for the active operation.)

Change over represents the time to convert a line or machine from processing one product to another product. The time is measured from the last good part of the current run to the first good part of the next run.

Time Format - Select Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds, and/or Milliseconds.

Show Time Format – Displays or hides the time format.

Font Settings - Specifies the font, font size, text style, horizontal and vertical alignment, and Background Color and Foreground Color for the metric.


Change Over Time metric

Performance

Units per Hour (versus Target) – Displays the units per hour versus the specified target time for the selected data source. (Data is shown for the active operation.)

Options for this metric:

View – Specifies the type of gauge to use for the metric: Circular, Bar, or Text.

Orientation – Specifies the orientation for a bar gauge: Horizontal or Vertical.

Show Target – Displays the text Target = xx on the gauge.

Use Target as Maximum – Uses the value you specify as the Maximum Range as the maximum number of units on the gauge.

Maximum Range – Specifies the maximum number of units to be displayed on the gauge.

In Target Settings/Out of Target Settings – Specifies the colors to use for the in-target and out of target ranges.


Note:

For the target settings, these options are also available:

  • Use the Enable check box to enable/disable target settings on the gauge display.
  • Use the Color palette to select a range color for the target settings.


Units per Hour (versus Target) metric

Performance

Avg Takt Time (versus Target) – Displays the average Takt time versus the specified target time for the selected data source. (Data is shown for the active operation.)

You can specify in target and out of target settings as well as the maximum range for the target.

Takt time measures the average time interval between the start of production of one unit and the start of production of the next unit when items are produced sequentially. For example, if you receive a new product customer order every 5 hours, you must produce a product in 5 hours or less to meet the customer demand.

Options for this metric:

View – Specifies the type of gauge to use for the metric: Circular, Bar, or Text.

Orientation – Specifies the orientation for a bar gauge: Horizontal or Vertical.

Time Display - Select Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds, and/or Milliseconds.

Number of Past Units – Specifies the number of past units to count for the active batch.

Show Target – Displays the text Target = xx on the gauge.

Use Target as Maximum – Uses the value you specify as the Maximum Range as the maximum number of units on the gauge.

Maximum Range – Specifies the maximum number of units to be displayed on the gauge.

Average Takt Time (versus Target) metric

Performance

Avg Working Time per Unit – Displays the average working time per unit for the selected data source. (Data is shown for the active operation.)

Options for this metric:

Display Mode – Specifies the type of gauge to use for the selected metric:

  • Circular
  • Bar
  • Time Indicator

Time Display - Select Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds, or Milliseconds.

Number of Past Units – Specifies the number of past units to count for the active batch.

In Limit Range Settings – Specifies the in-limit range to use for the metric.

Out of Limit Range – Specifies the out of limit range to use for the metric.

Avg Working Time per Unit metric

Performance

Station State – Displays the current machine/station state as text for the selected data source and the given time span.

Options for this metric:

Font Settings - Specifies the font, font size, text style, horizontal and vertical alignment, and Background Color and Foreground Color for the various machine states.

Machine State Type – Available machine state types are: CAMX, SEMI E10, and SEMI E58.

CAMX - is a set of communications standards used to exchange data among manufacturing equipment and applications in electronics manufacturing. CAMX defines both XML messages for encapsulating data as well as a protocol for exchanging those messages.

SEMI E10 – SEMI E10 is a standardized methodology for measuring reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) and utilization performance of equipment in a manufacturing environment. It applies to all equipment systems, which includes equipment modules, non-cluster tools, single and multipath cluster tools, and more. By establishing standard measurement methods, terms, and calculations, SEMI E10 improves communication between users and suppliers and enhances the manufacturing capability of semiconductor and related industries.

SEMI E58 - Provides standards for implementing and collecting SEMI E10 state changes at the equipment level per SEMI E10. (SEMI E10 defines various terms and equipment states but was not written specifically for application by automated equipment. The SEMI E58 specification provides a consistent interpretation of these equipment states through formal state model methodology.)

Status View – The available Status View selections are determined by the Machine State Type you select:

  • If you select the CAMX, the available Status View settings are: Active, Blocked, Down, Executing, Idle, Off, Setup, Starved, and Unknown.
  • If you select the SEMI E10, the available Status View settings are: Engineering, Non-Scheduled, Productive, Standby, Scheduled Downtime, and Unscheduled Downtime.
  • If you select the SEMI E58, the available Status View settings are: Productive, PRD Regular Work, PRD Work for Third Parties, PRD Rework, PRD Engineering, Standby, SBY No Operator, SBY No Product, SBY No Support Tool, SBY Associated Cluster, SBY Unknown, SBY No Host, Engineering, Engineering Process Experiments, Eng Unknown, Scheduled Downtime, SDT User Maintenance Delay, SDT Supply Maintenance Delay, SDT Preventive Maintenance, SDT Change of Consumables, SDT Setup, STD Scheduled Production, SDT Facilities Related, SDT Unknown, Unscheduled Downtime, USD Maintenance Delay, USD Supplied Maintenance, USD Repair, USD Out of Spec Input, USD Change of Consumables, USD Facilities Related, USD Unknown, Non-Scheduled, NST Unworked Shifts, NST Equipment Installation, NST Equipment Modifications, NST Offline Training, NST Shutdown and Startup, and NST Unknown.

Machine State Display Colors and Text – You can select custom colors and text/titles for the machine states associated with each machine state type (CAMX, SEMI E10, or SEMI E58):

SEMI E10 – Engineering, Non-Scheduled, Productive, Standby, Scheduled Downtime, and Unscheduled Downtime

Performance

Station State History – Displays a machine's current state or utilization history for the selected data source.

Options for this metric:

View – You can view station state history several ways:

  • Utilization - Displays a pie chart or 3D pie chart showing a machine's current utilization for the selected data source.
  • History - Displays a chart representing historical placement rates for the selected data source.

Machine State Type – Available machine state types are: CAMX, SEMI E10, and SEMI E58.

CAMX - is a set of communications standards used to exchange data among manufacturing equipment and applications in electronics manufacturing. CAMX defines both XML messages for encapsulating data as well as a protocol for exchanging those messages.

SEMI E10 – SEMI E10 is a standardized methodology for measuring reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) and utilization performance of equipment in a manufacturing environment. Status Texts – In the Display Options dialog, you can specify custom text/titles for various machine statuses, depending on the Machine State Type you select (CAMX, SEMI E10, or SEMI E58):

  • CAMX status text – Active, Blocked, Down, Executing, Idle, Off, Setup, Starved, and Unknown.
  • SEMI E10 status text – Engineering, Non-Scheduled, Productive, Standby, Scheduled Downtime, and Unscheduled Downtime.

Quality

Defects – Displays defect statuses for the selected data source.

Options for this metric:

View – Visualizes defect data as a bar chart, pie chart, or 3D pie chart

Defect Statuses to Display – For bar charts, displays one or more of the following defect statuses:

  • Closed
  • Deleted
  • False
  • Fixed
  • Open

Display Defect Code Name – Controls the display of defect code names On/Off.

Number of Most Critical Items – Limits the display of data on the chart to the number you specify.

Sort by Status – Sorts the display of data on the chart using the status you select.

Sort Order – Sorts the chart defect data in Ascending order or Descending order.

Quality

Defect Count - Displays the defect count for the selected data source.

Options for this metric:

View – Specifies the type of view to use for the metric: Text Box or Gauge.

Defect Statuses to Display – Displays one or more of the following defect statuses:

  • Open


Note:
The status number displayed is a cumulative number of all the statuses you select.

Quality

Defects per Unit History - Displays the number of defects per unit in the active batch for the selected data source.

Options for this metric:

View – Specifies the type of view to use for the metric: Line Chart or Table.

Number of Past Units – Indicates the number of past units to calculate for the gauge.

Update Time Interval (hh:mm) – Specifies how often to update the line chart or table.


Defects Per Unit History metric

Quality

Yield – Displays the first or second pass yield in the active batch for the selected data source.

Options for this metric:

View – Specifies the type of view to use for the metric: Text Box or Gauge.

Calculate Yield By – Specifies whether to calculate yield by Operation or by Workstation.

Yield to Display – Specifies either First Pass Yield or Second Pass Yield.

Pass yield is calculated using pass unit failures. First pass failures are units that have ever failed and second pass failures are units that have ever been failed more than once. Pass yield is calculated as ((total units – total failed) / total units) * 100.


Example:

Unit 1:     passed
Unit 2:     failed then passed
Unit 3:     failed twice

First Pass Yield is ((3 – (1 + 1) / 3) * 100 = 33.33%
Second Pass Yield is ((3 – 1) / 3) * 100 = 66.67%


In Limit Range Settings – Specifies the in-limit range to use for the metric.

Out of Limit Range – Specifies the out of limit range to use for the metric.

Warning Limit Range – Specifies the warning limit range to use for the metric.

Quality

DPMO – Displays Defects Per Million Opportunities in the active batch for the selected data source using the IPC 9261 standard.

Options for this metric:

View – Specifies the type of view to use for the metric: Text Box or Gauge.

Decimal Places – Specifies the number of decimal places to display for the metric.

Font Settings - Specifies the font, font size, and text style for the metric.

Background Color – Specifies the background color for a text box. (This color is overridden by selected range colors when range limits are exceeded.)

Foreground Color - Specifies the foreground color for a text box. (This color is overridden by selected range colors when range limits are exceeded.)

In Limit Range Settings – Specifies the in-limit range to use for the metric.

Out of Limit Range – Specifies the out of limit range to use for the metric.

Warning Limit Range – Specifies the warning limit range to use for the metric.

Quality

Update Time Interval (hh:mm) – Specifies how often to update the line chart or table.


DPMO History metric

Quality

DPMO per Operation - Displays the Defects Per Million Opportunities in the active batch for the selected data source using the IPC 9261 standard.

Options for this metric:

View – Specifies the type of view to use for the metric: Bar Chart or Table.

Sort Order – Sorts the chart data in Ascending order or Descending order.

Color Each Bar Differently – When selected, uses a different color for each bar in a bar chart.

Bar Color – Specifies a single color for the bars in a bar chart.

In Limit Range Settings – Specifies the in-limit range to use for the metric.

Out of Limit Range – Specifies the out of limit range to use for the metric.

Warning Limit Range – Specifies the warning limit range to use for the metric.

DPMO per Operation metric

SMT Placement

Placement Faults - Displays counts for placement faults for the selected data source (components not placed, not recognized, and mis-picks).

Options for this metric:

Series to Display - You can sort placement faults by: Mispicks, Not Placed, and/or Not Recognized.

Number of Most Critical Items – Specifies the number of critical items to display on the chart for each series.

Group Faults By – You can group placement faults Feeder, Nozzle, Part Number, or Reference Designator.

Display By - You can display grouped placement faults by:

  • Nozzle
  • Head
  • Head and Nozzle Segment
  • Head, Nozzle, and Nozzle
  • Head and Nozzle

Sort By Series – Specifies how to sort series data in the chart: All, Mispicks, Not Placed, or Not Recognized.

Sort Order – Specifies series sorting: Ascending or Descending.


Placement Faults metric

SMT Placement

Components per Hour (CPH) – Displays the components per hour for the selected data source.

Options for this metric:

View – Specifies the type of view to use for the metric: Text Box or Gauge.

Operational Dashboard Element – Allows you to add an image of a published DataMiner chart or report to a dashboard. When you run the chart or report as a slide show, the data will refresh approximately every 10-15 minutes.

Options for this metric:

Note: If a DataMiner report contains multiple pages, only the first page of data will display.

Selected Chart/Report – Displays a drop-down showing all available published DataMiner charts and reports. Select the desired chart or report.

Refresh Rate – Specifies the refresh rate (in minutes) for the report.


Tip

If needed, you can easily mix published DataMiner charts and reports with real-time metrics on a dashboard.


Note:

When you select a chart or report for the dashboard, it will display as a placeholder until you run the dashboard by selecting the Save and Run command in the upper-right corner of the window.

CPK – The CPK metric displays a text box showing a numeric value for the selected data source.

Cpk indicates whether the process being analyzed can produce few or no defects—the higher the number, the less likely it will be that defects are produced.

The Cpk statistic is the minimum of the Cpl and Cpu statistics:

  • The Cpl statistic relates the difference between the center line and the Lower Specification Limit (LSL) to the standard deviation.
  • The Cpu statistic relates the difference between the Upper Specification Limit (USL) and the center line to the standard deviation.

When setting up a SPC Cpk alarm trigger, you select the workstation, the reactions that will fire alarm reaction templates, and specify the SPC options to be used for the Cpk alarm trigger.

Options for this metric:

Measurements – Specifies the measurements to use to calculate the Cpk value.

SubGroup Size – Specifies the size of the sub-group to calculate the Cpk value.

SubGroup Selection - Specifies the sub-group interval: First X of Interval or Last X of Interval.

X-Bar with R Chart - An XBar-R chart metric plots the average of individual values in a subgroup using the selected data source.

XBar-R charts are typically used to plot a subgroup mean for smaller subgroups and the range of individual values for a single characteristic. Use an XBar-R chart when the sample part size is between 2 and 9 (typically 3 or 5). This chart type is often used when at least a few parts are made every hour.

The XBar-R control chart shows both the mean value (XBar) and the range (R) of a sample. This is the most common type of control chart using indiscrete or continuous values. The XBar portion of the chart shows any changes in the mean value of the process while the R portion shows any changes in the dispersion of the process. This chart is particularly useful because it shows changes in mean value and dispersion of the process at the same time, making it a very effective method for checking abnormalities in the process.

X-Bar with R Chart metric

SPC

X-Bar with S Chart – An XBar-S chart metric plots the average of individual values in a subgroup using the selected data source. XBar-S charts are identical to XBar-R charts except that the R (range) is replaced by an S (standard deviation).

An XBar-S chart plots the average and the sample standard deviation of individual values in a subgroup. These charts are typically used to plot the subgroup mean for a larger subgroup and the standard deviation. Use an XBar-S chart when your sample size is 10 or more (n≥10) and a lot of data is readily available, for example on high-speed production lines where many measurements can be gathered quickly.

An XBar-S chart shows both the mean value (XBar) chart and the standard deviation (S) chart.
