Transport orders (also referred to as transportation orders) are a subset of an overall kit of materials needed to build a product or assembly. A kit is normally broken down into kit groups that allow specific parts to be targeted/delivered to a particular area of the factory floor.
Using the Execute Transport Orders function, you can manually create transport orders for on-demand transport of materials or tools within the factory. With the appropriate permissions, you can generate a transport order with respect to a source, destination, list of parts (tools), and priority.
The Transport Order window displays order information and also has options for filtering and sorting transport orders. In the window, you can also scan a transport order number and submit it for processing. There are buttons to create, edit, and execute transport orders or cancel existing orders. Additionally, there are selections to print a transport order or print the traveler for an order. Once submitted, a transport order is added to the material handling queue based on its priority.
