For most customers, FactoryLogix system availability (uptime) is the most important requirement. If you use a single FactoryLogix instance globally, you don't want to stop and restart the FactoryLogix servers to apply security patches.
We recommend the following best practices related to security patches:
Evaluate security patches on a regular basis (monthly, for example) to determine if they are necessary and reduce the frequency of patch installations.
Test security patches in a test environment before installing them in your production environment.
If you use real-time anti-virus monitoring, exclude the SQL Server database files (including data files, transaction log files, tempdb, and other system database files) from being monitored.
Filter unnecessary packets and disable unnecessary services.
If you perform database backups todisk, exclude database backup files and transaction log backup files.
