The Gadgets view in the iMonitor Designer window is a tree representation of each gadget associated with a specific line, process point, or model point and its current status.

  • Select View > Gadgets in the iMonitor Designer window to display the Gadgets view.

Note:

The gadget tree and the filter wizard are applicable only to items that have filters for locations, not products. There are a few gadgets that have product filters—you can only modify those in the Properties box.

Determine gadget status

The Gadgets view shows a graphical representation of the status of a data source gadget added to a dashboard that is (or is not) configured properly. In the Gadgets view, notice the following:

  • If a data source is valid, it will not be highlighted.
  • If a data source is not yet assigned, you will see Unassigned Data Source highlighted in Yellow.
  • If a data source assigned does not exist, it will be Red—this will only occur if you imported a *.dtf file that contains a data source that doesn't exist as a corporate asset in your factory model.

  • To configure or reconfigure the data source for a gadget, right-click the gadget in the tree and select Configure Data Source, then make selections in the Set Gadget Data Source dialog.
