The Collect a Number activity (Numeric Data Collection Activity) in the NPI Process Definition window now supports batch attribute limits. When you double-click a Numeric Data Collection Activity for a step in a process flow, the Activity Details tab provides options to limit batch input ranges, set up batch validation values, and provide instructions for failed validations. (For more information about steps and activities in process definitions, see Create work instructions (steps) for an operation.)

Note:

Information for the batch attributes limits you specify on the Activity Details tab for a Collect a Number activity in NPI is also displayed in the Analytics client application in the DataMiner Quality and Test category (Test and Measurement data source).

  1. Log into the NPI client application, then open a process definition.
  2. On the left side of the Process Definition window, double-click a Numeric Data Collection Activity, then select the Activity Details tab.
  3. Under Limit the Input Range, select Limit Batch Attributes, then use the Min Value and Max Value drop-down options to search for and apply minimum and maximum input range values for batch attributes.
  4. Under Validate the Information, select Validate Batch Attributes, then use the options to search for and apply minimum and maximum values for batch validation.
  5. Under Instructions for Failed Validation, select the action to take when batch validation fails and (optionally) specify a reroute pathway for failed units.
