ADMINISTRATOR

Based on versioning information with both the FactoryLogix client applications and the database schema, it is not possible to run different versions of the FactoryLogix system with different database schemas—this is a safety feature to ensure that your data is not damaged or corrupted. To update the database schema, you must use a system that has FactoryLogix Server Management installed and is updated to the latest release.

To upgrade the database schema (or check to see if an upgrade is needed) use the following procedure.

  1. Open FactoryLogix Server Management from the Application Server.
  2. In the Server Management window, select Database Utilities.

    Server Management Home window

  3. Select the desired database from the Select Target Database drop-down.
  4. Select Upgrade Target Database Schema.

    Note:

The Update Target Database Schema task looks at the database's Versions table to determine the current version of the database. The appropriate script is applied to the database to update the schema.

  5. If the Database needed an update, you will see a message that the update was successful, select OK, then select Close.
  6. Select Services Setting in the Server Management home window.
  7. Select the desired database from the Select a Database Connection drop-down.

    Service Settings dialog

  8. Select Save, then select Close.
  9. Follow the steps in Reconfigure service logon accounts to upgrade the FactoryLogix client software.
