ADMINISTRATOR

ClickOnce technology allows users to download and install the latest version of the FactoryLogix client applications without needing administrative rights. The installed applications are then available in that user's list of programs.

You can publish FactoryLogix NPI, Logistics, Analytics, and Production client applications directly from the FactoryLogix Application Server as ClickOnce applications.

Important

ClickOnce deployments have specific Microsoft prerequisite software that your IT department must install on all client workstations before the deployment. See Install client applications using ClickOnce for details.

This topic explains how to configure and share the Client Installations folder from the FactoryLogix Application Server.

  • Before you begin, verify that all necessary Windows accounts have been created and granted the appropriate rights on the FactoryLogix Application Server.

Note

We recommend creating network file access to the folder on the FactoryLogix Application Server using a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) file path, for example: \\FactoryLogixServer\Client Installations. You must have write access through Windows networking and Access Control Lists (ACLs) to execute ClickOnce applications from that directory.

Share the Client Installations folder

  1. Log into the Windows server with an administrator account.

  2. Locate the folder to be shared, typically in the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Aegis\FactoryLogix Server\Client Installations.

  3. Right-click the Client Installations folder, then select Properties.

Set NTFS permissions for the Client Installations folder

  1. Log into the Windows Server computer with the administrator account.
