The Empty UID function allows you to make material adjustments for people who are responsible for kitting, allocating, and moving materials to and from receiving areas, warehouses, and the production floor. The Empty UID function includes the collection of a material movement reason code when the Reason Codes For Inventory Adjustments global option is set to True by an administrator in the NPI client application.

  1. Log into the FactoryLogix website and select Logistics.
  2. Select Empty UID on the left side of the window.

  3. Scan a barcode or enter a UID in the UID field, then select the Submit Submit button button.

  4. Select an applicable reason code from the Reason Code drop-down.

    Note:

    For more information about reason codes, see Add, delete, and manage reason codes.


    All information for the scanned barcode/UID material instance is displayed in the Details pane (Part Number, Description, Reservation Status, Quantity, State, and Location as shown in the following illustration).

  5. Select the Empty Quantity  button at the bottom of the window to confirm your selection. 

    A confirmation message indicates that the UID quantity was emptied (that is, set to zero).

  6. (Optional) Select the Start Over button to select a different UID.

    If the UID was already emptied, you'll see an error message telling you the quantity is already depleted (zero).

    Note:

    After emptying a UID, you can use the Reset Quantity function to change the quantity for that part number.
