Link part numbers to create relationships

In FactoryLogix, you can link an Internal Part Number to one or more Manufacturer Part Numbers, Vendor Part Numbers, Customer Part Numbers, and/or Alternate Internal Part Numbers.

When you link part numbers, you define a part number relationship. These links are displayed on the Relationships tab in the Part Library window. 

1. Log into the FactoryLogix Office client application.
2. Select  Libraries > Part Library.
3. Using the tabs at the top of the window, select a part number type (Manufacturer Part Number, Vendor Part Number, or Customer Part Number).
4. Select the part number you want to link to other part numbers.
   
   
   
   
   
5. On the right side of the window, use the Link drop-down to select the part type you want to link this part number to (in this example, we selected Vendor Part Number to link the selected IPN to a VPN).
   
   
   
   
   

6. In the dialog, search for and select the part number to link to, then select OK. (This example links to an existing Vendor Part Number.)
   
   

   Note:

   In the Link dialog, you can link to an existing part number, create a new part number to link to, or copy an existing part to create a new part to link to.

   
   
   
   
   

7. On the right side of the Part Library window, select the Relationships tab to view the link relationship you created.
