- Log into the FactoryLogix Office client application and select Process Engineering.
- Select the Import From V7 button under Define Processes.
The Please Select a V7 Assembly to Import window opens, allowing you to select a*.CPF file process revision. Select the Import CPF button.
Browse to the *.cpf file you want to import, then select Open.
- Select the Import BOM button to import any BOM information associated with the selected assembly, assembly revision or process revision, including BOM Level AML and Alternate Part information.
Select the Import CAD button to import any CAD or Gerber data associated with the selected assembly, assembly revision, or process revision.
- If the assembly name and revision already exist in the FactoryLogix database, a prompt will display, asking how you want to handle the BOM and CAD data:
- Link to the Assembly in FactoryLogix - Utilizes the existing assembly's CAD and BOM data. (This option disables the Import CAD and Import BOM buttons on the toolbar.)
- Re-import from the Legacy System - Overwrites existing assembly CAD and BOM data with the selected V7 assembly data.
- Create a New Assembly Revision - Allows a new assembly revision to be created under the existing assembly name.
- On the New Assembly page, the selected V7 assembly name should appear in the Assembly Information area. Select Next.
- On the New Process Options page, select an existing FactoryLogix process template using the Choose a Template drop-down.
The Process Mapping area of the page allows you to map the V7 process revision model points to FactoryLogix process flow operations.
Warning!
If you don't select a process template, only the BOM and CAD data will carry over to FactoryLogix—no model point mapping will take place!
There are several Mapping Options available to assist in mapping the process revision operations:
Link - This button (the right arrow button) maps a selected V7 model point to a selected FactoryLogix operation. The mapping tool allows multiple V7 model points to be assigned to one FactoryLogix operation if desired.
Remove - This button (the left arrow button) removes all V7 model point assignments from the selected FactoryLogix operation.
Copy Assignments - Select this check box to copy all V7 model point component assignments to the assigned FactoryLogix operations.
Save Mappings - When this check box is selected, once a model point has been mapped to an operation, it can be saved and reused whenever a V7 revision based on the same factory model is migrated to FactoryLogix.
Create Step Name using Model Point Name - When this check box is selected, the step’s name will be based on the mapped V7 model point name.
- Map the V7 model points to the appropriate FactoryLogix operations, then select Finish to begin importing the V7 project into FactoryLogix.
Status messages alert you to the progress of the import. When the import is complete, FactoryLogix will open the newly-created process in the Process Definition window. The CAD and BOM are imported and the Process Flow node of the Process Tree is selected. Any V7 import errors or information are displayed at the bottom of the Process Tree in the Visual Aid Import Log. Select the Visual Aid Import Log link to view any import errors.
Any errors will display in the Error List along with an explanation, model point, and the page number of the encountered error.
To export the full import log as a *.csv file, select the Export CSV File button in the upper-right corner of the window.
- When you're finished viewing the import log, select OK to return to the Process Definition window.
