The production planning environment in FactoryLogix Office makes use of a reservation system to “lock” specific material instances (UIDs) to specific batches. These reservations ensure that the materials required to build something are on hand when production begins on the factory floor. By default, required materials are reserved using First In First Out (FIFO) rules so that the oldest materials are consumed first.
