The FactoryLogix Application Service handles license requests from all FactoryLogix applications. The Application Service combined with a hardware dongle (if required) controls the number of users that may use a FactoryLogix client application concurrently and the system settings they can access.

Before activating a FactoryLogix license, do the following:

  • Obtain the FactoryLogix Server setup file (available on the Aegis Support Gateway).
  • Obtain the License Control File (*.lic file) that matches your license number.
  • Verify that you have a hardware dongle (if required) and that it is installed securely on the license server machine.
  • Device drivers for the dongle (if required) are installed (drivers are available from the Aegis Support Gateway in a file named SentinelProtectionInstaller.zip).
  • Confirm that the FactoryLogix Application Service is installed on the license server machine (see Install the Application Server).

Activate a license

  1. Open the FactoryLogix NPI client application from any server or computer that has NPI installed, but do not log in.

  2. On the Login page, select Settings.

  3. In the Server Settings dialog, select the Application Server Settings and Database Server Settings tabs and review all settings to ensure they are correct (see Install and configure the client applications).
