When you install the Application Server, the FactoryLogix Server Management application is also installed.
Important
The Server Management application is instrumental in the FactoryLogix installation, and you should install it first during a FactoryLogix deployment.
Server Management allows you to:
Structure and index a FactoryLogix Database
Set security and connection options that the Application Server uses to communicate with the FactoryLogix Database
Configure system logging for troubleshooting

FactoryLogix Server Management should be made available only to IT personnel or FactoryLogix project leaders. Server Management has many settings/tools that can dramatically impact the functionality of a FactoryLogix system, including the ability to overwrite existing system data.
Install the FactoryLogix Application Server
Before you install the Application Server, be sure you complete the following:
Review the Recommended system specification and select Server to install the FactoryLogix Application Server.
Verify all necessary Windows accounts have been created and granted appropriate rights on the Application Server and the FactoryLogix Database Server (See Complete the pre-installation activities).
Obtain the Aegis Software Products setup file (contact Aegis Technical Support).
Install the Microsoft .NET Framework from Aegis or via Microsoft Windows Update.
Installation steps
Locate and run the FactoryLogix Server.exe setup program to install initial parameters, extract the *.msi file, and start the InstallShield Wizard.
When you see the Welcome page, select Next.
Read the End User License Agreement (EULA), select I accept the terms of the license agreement, then select Next.
Enter your User Name and Company Name, then select the appropriate option under Install this application for.
Accept the default installation location or select a different location, then select Next.
Select the FactoryLogix options you want to install.
Select Finish to complete the installation.
When the installation is complete, we recommend restarting the Application Server to start any new services that were installed.
