The Active Archive Queue window is where you select records to archive and you can view recently-archived records. This window displays when you log into the NPI client application and select the Archiving feature. There are search features to help you locate the record type and the individual records you want to archive. The record types you can archive are:

  • Batches
  • GRNs
  • Assemblies and processes
  • Receiving processes
  • (Rearchive) machine performance data

Important!

To set up record types for automatic archiving, see Initial setup for archiving and Archive settings and scheduling options.


  1. Log into the NPI client application.
  2. Select System Configuration System Configuration button Archiving.

  3. Under Select Items to Archive or Restore, select the button that corresponds to the type of record you want to archive.

    Archive Batches/GRNsSelect batches and GRNs to archive.
    Archive Assemblies and ProcessesSelect assemblies, assembly revisions, and process revisions to archive.
    Archive Receiving ProcessesSelect receiving processes to archive.
    Rearchive Machine Performance Data

    Select previously-restored machine performance data to archive.

    Note:

    Machine performance data must initially be archived automatically, but if restored, you can then rearchive it manually using this option.


    A search and selection dialog displays. (The available search options will vary depending on the record type you select. For the following example, we selected Archive Assemblies and Processes.)

  4. Enter the criteria to search for in the Search bar (for example, a batch name, assembly name, or a serial number). 

    Note:

    By default, the search will try to locate records by the name you enter in the Search bar.

  5. Use the buttons at the top of the dialog to specify additional search criteria for the record you want to locate. (The buttons vary depending on the record type you select.)

    Select All/Unselect All

    Note:

    Machine performance data must initially be archived automatically, but if restored, you can then rearchive it manually using this option.

  6. Select the Search button Search button (the binoculars to the right of the Search bar) or press Enter to display the search results.

    Note:

    If you leave the Search bar empty, all results are returned. You can review the results and select only the records you want to archive.


  7. (Optional) Select the Text Options button on the right side of the dialog to display record names that Start With or End With the search text you enter or an Exact Search.



  8. (Optional) When searching for batches/GRNs, select the Calendar button to the right of the search bar to filter the search results by batch Start Date and End Date.



  9. When the search results display, select the check box next to each record you want to archive.

  10. Select OK to add the selected records to the archive queue and schedule them for processing.

    Note:

    You can select assemblies and processes for archiving at the assembly, assembly revision, and process revision levels. You can select receiving processes at the process and process revision levels. Options are also available above the record list to Select All or Unselect All results from the current search or all records on the current page of results.


    The records will be archived according to the currently-selected scheduling options. To review the scheduling options for each record type, see Archive settings and scheduling options.
