Use the Common Parts tab in Product Comparisons to load and compare multiple BOM files and identify parts that are common to the selected BOMs as well as unique parts for each BOM.
- Log into the NPI client application.
- Select Process Engineering > Product Comparisons.
- Select the Common Parts tab.
- Under BOM List, select the Add BOM
button. (Use the Remove BOM 
button to remove a selected BOM.) - Locate and select the assembly containing the BOM you want to load, then select OK.
- Repeat Step 5 for other BOM files you want to load and compare.
- Select the Include Unique Parts check box if you want unique BOM line items to display in addition to common parts.
- Select the Include Revision Information check box if you want to include revision details in the comparison.
As you select BOM files to load, the comparison results update dynamically. - Select the Launch BOM button to launch a selected BOM.
- Select the Print button in the upper-right corner of the window to print the comparison file.
- In the Print Preview window, make the desired selections for printing and/or saving the comparison file. You can also use the toolbar buttons at the top of the Print Preview window to export (in a variety of formats), save, and/or email the comparison file to others in your organization.
