To check out a BOM, CAD, or process for editing in the Process Definition window, follow these steps.

  1. Log into the NPI client application.
  2. Select Process Engineering  > Define Processes, then create a new assembly or assembly revision or open an existing process.
  3. In the Process Definition window, double-click a BOM, CAD, or process in the Process tree to open it for editing.

    When an item is checked out for editing, you will see a padlock padlock icon icon next to it in the Process tree.

  4. Make the desired changes to the BOM, CAD, or process.
  5. To check in an edited BOM, CAD, or process, select the padlock padlock icon icon in the Process tree to Save and Check In your changes.

    Note:

    If you forget to select the padlock icon to save and check in a BOM, CAD, or process, you will be prompted to save or discard your changes before exiting the Process Definition window.
