Settings button

Administrators use the Global Options tab to modify global option settings for FactoryLogix users. There are three columns:

Column

Description

Option Name

Displays the global option category and individual options

Default Value 

Displays the default value for a global option

Overrides

Specifies who has permission to override a global option's default value or displays Not Applicable if no one has permission to override the default value

  1. Log into NPI with Administrator rights.

  2. Select System Configuration System Configuration button > Settings.

  3. On the Global Options tab, select a Settings Category, then select the global option you want to change. (A detailed description of the option displays at the bottom of the window.)


Tip

To search for a global setting, select any column header on the right side of the window (Option Name, for example), then press Ctrl+F. In the Search box that displays at the top of the window, enter a search string, then press Enter. All categories containing the search string you entered are highlighted in Yellow. (Select the Close button to end the search and view all settings.)

  1. Select a new setting for the option from the Default Value drop-down.

  2. To change the override setting for a global option (if available), use the Overrides column drop-down to specify the user role(s) can override the default value with their own setting. (If an override isn't available for an option, Not Applicable is displayed in this column.)

To specify individual users who can override default values for global settings, see Global option override.

  1. Continue to make changes to other global options and overrides as needed, then select Save.
