Editing a dashboard is quick and easy using Analytics. The editing environment allows you to change data sources and metrics on-the-fly and quickly preview changes.

  1. Open a browser window.

  2. Log into the FactoryLogix website, then select Analytics.

  3. Select an existing dashboard from the list, then select the Open Dashboard button (or just double-click the name of the dashboard).

  4. Select the Edit button in the upper-right corner of the window.

  5. Select the metric you want to change.

  6. Use the Data Sources buttons in the upper-left corner of the window to make any of the following changes:

    • Add a new data source button Add a new data source – Displays a dialog where you can make selections to create a new data source.

    • Set a data source for a selected metric button Set a data source for a selected metric – Sets the data source for the currently selected metric.

    • Edit a data source button Edit a data source – Displays options for modifying a data source.

    • Remove unused data sources from a dashboard button Remove unused data sources from a dashboard – Removes all unused data sources for the current dashboard.

  7. To modify the options for a metric, select the gear button, then select the Options button to display the available options. (For details about the available options for each metric, see the topic Metrics for Dashboards.)

  8. Select Save and Run in the upper-right corner of the window to save and preview the dashboard.

  9. To discard your changes, select the Discard Changes button in the upper-right corner of the window.

Note

To change the data source for the selected metric, you can also select the gear button, select the Data Source button, then select a different data source (if one is available).

Note

If a dashboard is in View mode in multiple locations or on multiple devices and the author updates the dashboard, when the dashboard is saved the changed are propagated automatically to all devices displaying that dashboard.

Important

If two people edit a dashboard simultaneously, the last person to save their changes will overwrite the other person’s changes. (We recommend reloading the dashboard to verify your changes.)
