If you want to isolate one or more selected parts in an assembly, follow these steps.

Note

Isolating parts with this feature is temporary; changes you make are not saved with the selected view. If you want to show an assembly with isolated parts, use the Snapshot Snapshot toolbar button   toolbar button to save a *.png image of the assembly with the isolated parts.

  1. In the Process Definition window under Views, select the view you want to manipulate (or create a new view).

  2. Select the part you want to isolate in this view. (Use Ctrl+click to select multiple parts.)

    The part(s) will be colored using the default selection color (in this example, the motor shaft is colored Green).

  3. Right-click the part, then select Isolate from the menu.

  4. To use the isolated part for a process step or activity, select the Snapshot toolbar button (the camera), then right-click the part and select Save Image As.

  5. Select a location for the file, enter a name for the file, the select Save to save the isolated part as a *.png file for later use in a step or activity.
