Production orders and change notices can be put through a formal review and approval process in FactoryLogix. The review process presents approvers with an intelligent, side-by-side view of engineering changes found between a new version and its predecessor. If the approval cycle takes longer than expected, managers are immediately notified via an escalation email to take appropriate action.

Engineering Change Notices (ECN)

Sometimes things don't go as planned and changes must be broadcast to the factory floor for an already-released product. This course details the steps necessary to initiate an Engineering Change Notice to communicate these types of modifications in real time. Operators on the factory floor can be required to acknowledge these change notices to ensure compliance.

New revisions of existing processes and/or assemblies

Changes to how something is built shouldn't require a process engineer to start from scratch. A new revision of an existing process makes it easy to start with a complete process and then make only the changes necessary to reflect the new version.

Minor changes to an assembly, such as simple changes to the bill of materials (BOM) can be achieved with a new assembly revision. Process engineers can make a copy of an existing assembly and then simply make the modifications needed and re-release it as a new revision.
