How does it work?

The CFX Gateway brokers bi-directional communications between a PLC-controlled device and a CFX-compliant endpoint such as a FactoryLogix CFX xLink adapter, effectively making the PLC-controlled device appear to be a CFX-compliant device. KepserverEX with IoT Gateway is utilized to facilitate the connection between the CFX Gateway and the PLC.

Once configured, the CFX Gateway does the following:

• Establishes a connection to any number of PLC-controlled devices using OPC UA protocol.
• Identifies the data tags exposed by each device controlled by a PLC
• Maps the data tags published by the PLC to CFX data values and CFX message structures
• Publishes CFX messages to a single AMQP 1.0 Message Broker or endpoint.
