When you use Smart Text tags in an Active Work Instruction, the tags you select are replaced with data from a specific source. For example, %AssemblyName% is a smart text tag that is replaced by the actual assembly name in the Active Work Instruction. If you change the assembly name, the text is updated automatically in the Active Work Instruction.

The name of a batch.
Current Date

The current date, for example 6/26/2019.
Customer

The name of a customer from the Customer Library. See Customer Library.
Measurement

Specifies a custom unit of measure. When you select this tag, enter a custom value in the dialog (for example Inches), then selectOK. If you enterInches, the tag displays as%Inches%in the AWI template.
Modified Date
%ModifiedDate%
The date a process was last modified.
Modified Date and Time
%ModifiedDateTime%
The time a process was last modified, for example 6/26/2019 10:20:51 AM.
Operation
%Operation%
The name of an operation in a process flow, for example Initialization.
Page Number
%PageNumber%
The current page number of the Active Work Instruction document.
Process Description
%ProcessDescription%
The (optional) description of a process.
Process Revision
%ProcessRevision%
The revision level of a process.
Process Revision Creator
AegisAdmin
The name of the individual who created a process revision, for example AegisAdmin.
Process Step
%ProcessStepName%
The name of a step in a process.
Total Pages
%TotalPages%
The total number of pages in an active work instruction.
Note:
You can create custom Smart Text tags using the Define Custom Fields window (NPI > System Configuration > Define Custom Fields). Select a category, select the Add button, enter the custom field name, then select OK. The custom field will display as an available Smart Text tag for the active work instruction.
