When you move an inventory item to stock, the item's location in the stock room is set and the item is made available for use in a future material reservation.

  1. Log into the FactoryLogix website and select Logistics.
  2. Select Move to Stock on the left side of the window.
  3. Scan or enter the UID for the material you want to move to stock, then select the Submit Submit button button.

The details for the entered UID are displayed in the table under Added Barcodes.

  4. Use the Stock Resource drop-down to select a stock resource location (Main Stock Aisle 1, for example). If you previously specified a Default Stock Resource in NPI, that stock resource will already be selected; otherwise you are prompted to select a stock resource.

    Note:

You can set the default stock resource in the NPI client application (NPI>System Configuration>Settings>Logistics>Option Type: Inventory Functions>Default Stock Resource).

  5. Use the Location drop-down to select the specific location where the selected material UID should be stocked (Main Stock Aisle 1 Shelf 1, Bin 1, for example).

  6. Use the Reason Code drop-down to select a reason code for moving the stock (a material shortage, for example).
  7. Repeat Steps 3-6 to add additional UIDs to the Added Barcodes list.

The system evaluates your permissions and ensures that the part number matches the suggested stock location. If there is a mismatch, the system will suggest one or more available stock locations as shown in the following illustration.

  9. (Optional) Select the Mark Location Full Mark Location Full button button to prevent additional parts from being moved to the suggested stock location.

    Note:

You can select the Start Over button at any time to restart the Move to Stock function.

  10. Review the information, select a different stock location, then select the Move to Stock button.

When the move is complete, a success message displays and you are prompted to scan or enter the next UID.

  11. (Optional) Repeat the procedure to move additional materials to a stock location.
