After you Specify a machine and add programming to your process definition in FactoryLogix Office, you're ready to edit the machine-specific properties and make any necessary changes. FactoryLogix interacts directly with the Juki IS software by using a cache; this cache is stored in the Juki.mdb file. The Juki machine Properties dialog is used to configure the connection to the Juki IS server and specify where to store local cache packages and part numbers.

Note

Editing machine properties settings is a task you typically do one time and only modify when necessary.

  1. Under Line Programming in the Process tree, select Juki IS under the operation you assigned it to previously (Auto Place, for example).

  2. In the Machine List window to the right of the Process tree, select the Edit Properties Edit Properties button button.

Select the Properties button (the Yellow gear)

JUKI Properties dialog - General tab

  1. Under Juki Mode, select the desired Juki IS / JaNets mode (Enterprise or Local).

Note

  • Juki JaNets (Local): Choose this option if you don't own the JaNets Data Manager. If you connect to the Component database using an Access MDB file, you likely don't own the Data Manager. Use the Browse button to select the location of the Juki JaNets Local DB.

  • Juki IS (Enterprise): Choose this option if you own the Data Manager for JaNets which uses an IBM DB2 database. You will need the IP address of the Data Manager server—not the JaNets Line Manager (the client used for programming).

FactoryLogix interacts directly with the Juki IS software by using a cache stored in the JukiIS.mdb.

  1. Under FactoryLogix Data Cache, use the Browse button to locate and specify the Cache File Location (Juki.mdb).

Note

The cache file contains an updated copy of Juki’s live database and is used for part matching.

FactoryLogix will build the JukiIS.mdb file in the directory you specified (if the file/database already doesn't already exist). Once the location of the JukiIS.mdb file is recorded, you can enter the Host Server Name and interact directly with the package data with the IS server.

  1. Under FactoryLogix Data Cache, select Clear. When prompted select No to prevent the cache from refreshing.

  2. Select Compact to compact the database.

  3. Under Juki Services (next to Host Server Name), enter the name or IP address of the Juki IS server.

  4. Select Test to verify connectivity and download the latest package data from Juki IS.
